Artist Print Series 020 - Morgan Hale
The 20th in our Artist Print Series.
Morgan Hale is a New York City based artist and weaver. Her work comes to life at the intersection of art, craft, and design, with emphasis and expertise in textile techniques. The process of weaving is a driving force behind her practice - she is continually propelled by its repetitive rhythm and movement. She often explores themes of time and perception, but sometimes she is simply examining color, shape, and material. In her current pieces, Morgan uses a painterly plaster technique on hand woven panels to create textural and dimensional surfaces. These works blur the boundaries between weaving, painting, sculpture and design. Morgan also teaches weaving classes and is the author of Weaving Untangled, an illustrated beginner's weaving guide.
